The Energy-safe Cities - East Asia Program helps participating East Asian local governments explore sustainable pathways for improving energy efficiency and attaining 100% renewable energy supply systems in urban areas by the year 2030.

Expert Symposium

The Energy-safe Cities – East Asia Program was launched with the Expert Symposium in Beijing on 28-29 October 2014. The Expert Symposium convened eleven East Asian local governments and over thirty international experts in energy sustainability for an interactive dialogue on the various practice examples, viable technologies, and strategies for urban transformation toward low-risk, low-carbon and resilient energy systems.

  • Japan: Kyoto, Tokyo, Yokohama
  • Mongolia: Ulaanbaatar
  • Republic of Korea (South Korea): Cheongju, Inje, Jeonju, Samcheok
