Green technology experts from China and Korea explored cooperation opportunities

Experts from renowned institutions from China and Korea including Renmin University, Tsinghua University, Korean Environment Institute, Seoul National University and Korea University, were invited to share their insights and experience in tackling climate change issues at the first Korea-China Experts Joint Workshop on Green Technology Policy held by the Green Technology Center on August 27, 2015 in Seoul, South Korea.


Mr. Shu Zhu, Regional Director of ICLEI East Asia Secretariat and ICLEI’s China Representative, was among one of the speakers at the workshop, where he introduced the work of ICLEI and suggested establishing city-to-city platform with the involvement of the private sector as a way to promote green technology transfers between the two countries.

Gathering around 30 researches from China and Korea, the workshop provided opportunities for participating institutions to introduce and explain the current green technology policies in their countries, as well their strategies in combating climate change. By promoting mutual understanding and providing a platform for exchange and discussion, the workshop also allowed experts from the two countries to explore potential areas for future cooperation.
