Resilient Cities Congress ‧ Resilient Cities Asia-Pacific Series
ICLEI launched the Resilience Cities Congress in 2010, providing a global and open space where local governments, researches, businesses, civil society could meet as equals, to share the latest knowledge, good practices, challenges, and innovations for creating more resilient cities, and track local progress on the resilience targets of SDG11 to make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. In response to the need for regional dialogues, the annual ICLEI Resilient Cities Asia-Pacific series was also created in 2015.
Urban Resilience Training Series
From, 2019 to 2020, ICLEI East Asia will deliver in-depth training to 4 selected cities in China in collaboration with UNDRR, to enhance their understanding and practical capacities in resilience development, explore potential solutions based on local development conditions and needs, and develop integrated climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction action plans.
Urban Climate Change Adaptation Mainstreaming in China
Invited by the Asian Development Bank, ICLEI East Asia is participating n the Technical Assistance of UCCA in China. In collaboration with the Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China, ICLEI East Asia will contribute to the development of the technical guidelines and policy recommendations for its 28 climate adaptation pilot cities, providing technical advice on policy development and implementation, as well as promoting climate change adaptation mainstreaming in the country.
