생물다양성협약 당사국총회(CBD COP16)

생물다양성협약 제16차 당사국총회(이하 CBD COP16)는 제15차 당사국 총회에서 채택된 쿤밍-몬트리올 글로벌 생물다양성 프레임워크 이후 처음으로 열리는 생물다양성 당사국총회입니다.
CBD COP16에서는 각국 정부가 쿤밍-몬트리올 글로벌 생물다양성 프레임워크의 이행 상황을 검토할 예정입니다. 협약 당사국들은 자국의 국가 생물다양성 전략 및 행동 계획(NBSAPs)이 프레임워크와 일치하는지에 대해 논의할 예정입니다. 또한,CBD COP16에서는 모니터링 프레임워크를 더욱 발전시키고, 글로벌 생물다양성 프레임워크를 위한 자원 동원을 진전시킬 것입니다.
그 외에도CBD COP16에서는 유전자 자원 관련 디지털 정보 사용으로 인한 이익을 공정하고 평등하게 공유할 수 있는 다자간 메커니즘을 최종 확정 및 운영할 예정입니다.
ICLEI는 해당 행사와 더불어 개최 도시 및 다른 파트너들과 함께 제8회 글로벌 도시 및 지방정부 생물다양성 정상회의를 공식 진행 할 예정입니다.
