ICLEI East Asia opens its representation office in Beijing China
The Beijing Representation Office of ICLEI East Asia was officially opened on 12 March 2018. Shu Zhu, Director of ICLEI East Asia received the registration certificate from the Foreign NGO Management Office of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.
“ICLEI is committed to promoting local sustainable development. The establishment of the Beijing Representation Office enables ICLEI to further extend its support to Chinese cities’ sustainable and environmental-friendly development. We appreciate the support from the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau and the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau on the registration of the Office. The Office will focus on environmental improvement, and will continue promoting holistic, integrated, and inclusive local sustainable development as well as an ecological civilization in China,” said ICLEI East Asia’s Director, Shu Zhu.
ICLEI East Asia’s Beijing Representation Office will support Chinese cities in building low-carbon, resilient and environmental-friendly cities; developing green and circular economies, and accelerating peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and international cooperation through the global city network. Developed upon ICLEI’s 10 Urban Agenda, programs and activities of ICLEI East Asia’s Beijing Representative Office will focus on four fronts: Nature & Environment, Low Carbon Development, Green Economy & Growth, and Urban Resilience.
