Cities and regions around the world are facing environmental and social challenges brought about by urbanization. Transformation towards a green, low-carbon, resilient and sustainable future has become an important issue in current urban development. Against this backdrop, GEF7 UrbanShift China City Academy will be led by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability and China Center for Urban Development (CCUD), in partnership with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), World Resources Institute (WRI), and World Bank.
