UN Climate Change Conferences more commonly known as the Conference of Parties (COP) are held annually and bring together around 30,000 participants to negotiate policies, take stock of and celebrate commitments, highlight and catalyze action by non-Party actors, expand the network of coalitions and partnerships and inspire others. As the focal point of local and subnational governments, ICLEI will actively participate in the event, provide assistance to high-level city representatives and facilitate cities in positioning themselves as vital partners in shaping the international architecture and the coordinated efforts of non-Party actors of the Agreement.
