Building Efficiency Accelerator Renovations Playbook
Many existing building envelopes, air conditioning, heating, ventilation, lighting, power supply and distribution, and other energy consumption systems do not actually meet energy efficiency standards, resulting in high building area energy consumption and even affecting the city’s energy supply and demand.
The Renovations Playbook provides detailed instructions on how to get started with a constructed building inventory database, and how to process and classify complex parameters. It also provides lists of common building energy-saving retrofit technologies and calculation methods and summarizes the rich experience of residential retrofits in Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Ukraine.
This Playbook was made possible thanks to the Global Environment Facility (GEF), who provided funding for the development of this as well as other two playbooks in support of cities, both inside and outside of the Building Efficiency Accelerator (BEA), looking to advance the energy efficiency of their buildings in pursuit of greater sustainability. The Chinese version was coordinated and released by the ICLEI East Asia Secretariat.
