Supporting food security through local, circular food systems
Despite the zero hunger goal set in 2015 in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the number of people affected by hunger globally has been slowly on the rise since 2014. An estimated 2 billion people in the world did not have regular access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food in 2019. Recent estimates by the UN Environment Programme indicate that 17 percent of total global food production is lost or wasted. Continue reading
