2025 EACNCA | Beijing: Strengthening Precision VOCs Control through Innovative Approaches
Beijing has undergone rapid economic transformation while implementing large-scale measures to tackle air pollution. Key initiatives, such as the “Blue Sky Protection Campaign (Three-Year Action Plan)” and the 2024 Summer Campaign on VOCs Control have driven substantial improvements across multiple sectors. As a result, PM2.5 levels fell by 65.9% from 2013 to 2024, while VOCs emissions decreased by 64.6% over the same period. Building on this progress, Beijing is advancing precision governance through innovative measures such as mobile VOCs monitoring systems, enabling real-time and data-driven control of complex and diffuse emission sources.
